Hoax dan Masyarakat Akademik di Kota Makassar

The purpose of this research is to understand the process academic community being exposed hoaxes in city Makassar. problem focused on hoaxes? In analyzing problems raised, researcher uses an analytical knife from Jean Boudrillar's theory Hyperreality. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation with qualitative analysis. Determination informants using purposive sampling accordance classification that have been determined, namely those Masters Doctoral education who work as lecturers actively use social media. results show media has a tendency get latest information interests paradigms community. they are interested in, there hoaxes, facts opinions which then experience superficial meaning. From any shallow meaning reported repeatedly without comparison news, it will become accepted truth, including hoax news.
